Carpinteria
The city of Carpinteria is approximately 15 miles east along the coast from Santa Barbara. Carpinteria Beach provides for a truly breath-taking setting with great sunsets and unique South facing beaches. Carpenteria Beach is quite safe with several life-guards are on duty regularly, creating a wonderful place to spend time at the beach with friends and family. Carpinteria originally produced rich crops of lima beans and walnuts, but has since given way to development of avocado and citrus orchards and commercial flower gardens. Carpinteria is also famous for their annual Avacado Festival, which is the largest in California, and features avocado ice cream and the best guacamole in town.
